Overview
he Revolut Crypto Card isn't a standalone crypto card in the way most cards in this space are, it's a feature inside the Revolut fintech super-app. Revolut has let users spend crypto since 2021, converting your crypto balance to fiat automatically at the point of sale with no exchange fee (though plan-based 'fair usage' fees can apply). In 2024 it added a dedicated virtual crypto card, and in 2026 it began rolling out a physical crypto card, but the underlying mechanic is unchanged: link a card to a specific token or your whole balance and spend anywhere Visa or Mastercard is accepted, with Apple Pay and Google Pay support.
Because it's a bank-style app rather than a crypto-native product, custody is fully custodial, Revolut (and its partners) hold your crypto and keys. There is no crypto-specific cashback: rewards come through Revolut's general RevPoints loyalty scheme, which is earned on card spend regardless of crypto and excludes crypto transactions from earning. Treat this as a convenient way for existing Revolut users to spend crypto, not a rewards-optimised crypto card.
New users who sign up with this code typically get a sign-up bonus once you complete your first eligible purchase. Rewards vary by region and are set by Revolut Card.
Rating breakdown
How the Revolut Card scores across the categories we weigh into its overall 7.6/10.
Cashback & rewards
Revolut does not offer crypto-specific cashback. Its rewards run through RevPoints, a general loyalty programme earned on eligible card spend and scaled by subscription plan: roughly 1 point per ยฃ/โฌ10 on Standard and Plus, 1 per ยฃ/โฌ4 on Premium, 1 per ยฃ/โฌ2 on Metal, and 1 per ยฃ/โฌ1 on Ultra. Crucially, crypto transactions are on RevPoints' exclusion list, so spending from a crypto balance generally earns no points at all. Points redeem for travel, experiences, or airline transfers โ not a percentage cashback. There is no volatile reward token; any value is in points, not crypto.
| Tier | Requirement | Cashback | Monthly cap |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | Free | ~1 RevPoint per ยฃ/โฌ10 spend (crypto spend excluded) | No crypto cashback |
| Premium | ยฃ7.99/mo (UK) | ~1 RevPoint per ยฃ/โฌ4 | No crypto cashback |
| Metal | ยฃ14.99/mo (UK) | ~1 RevPoint per ยฃ/โฌ2 | No crypto cashback |
| Ultra | ยฃ55/mo (UK) | ~1 RevPoint per ยฃ/โฌ1 | No crypto cashback |

Pros & cons
Pros
- Spend 200+ cryptocurrencies with automatic conversion at the point of sale
- No exchange fee on crypto card payments (fair-usage fees may apply by plan)
- Deeply integrated into a mature banking app with strong UX and security
- Apple Pay and Google Pay supported; Visa and Mastercard acceptance
- Virtual crypto card is free and instant; physical card now rolling out
- Can link to a single token or spend from your whole crypto balance
- Backed by an FCA-registered, widely regulated fintech
Cons
- Fully custodial โ Revolut holds your crypto and private keys
- No crypto-specific cashback; crypto spend is excluded from RevPoints
- Paying with crypto is a taxable disposal event in many countries
- Dedicated crypto card availability is limited (initially UK and Switzerland)
- Fair-usage and plan-based fees can erode the '0% exchange fee' claim
- Crypto assets aren't covered by deposit protection like bank funds
- Not a crypto-native product โ no on-chain self-custody within the card flow
Is It Worth It?
Best for existing Revolut users who occasionally want to spend crypto balances with zero friction inside an app they already use for everyday banking. Good for casual crypto holders who value convenience, mainstream regulation, and a familiar debit-card experience. A poor fit for anyone seeking crypto cashback, self-custody of keys, or a rewards-optimised crypto card โ dedicated crypto cards from other issuers serve those goals better.
